En su inflorescencia, produce una espiga central de brcteas rosadas de la que surgen sus flores tubulares moradas. La Tillandsia Ehlersiana es una planta de crecimiento lento pero con un alto ndice de reproduccin, formando grandes grupos. Requiere de una muy generosa ventilacin, as como lugares sombreados y es sensible a temperaturas bajas.
